Troubleshooting:
NOTE : All corrective actions should be carried out by suitably qualified person/s.
General Maintenance:
WARNING : Turn OFF the machine, allow all moving parts to come to a complete stop, and disconnect the power cord before maintaining the machine. You need to wear proper clothing and protective gloves whenever your hands are at risk.
- Keep all nuts, bolts, and screws tight to be sure the machine is in a safe working condition.
- Replace worn or damaged parts for safety. Only use manufacturer-recommended parts and accessories.
Cleaning:
Always remove the electric plug from the mains supply before any cleaning is undertaken.
- Remove any grass and mud after each use to prevent it from drying. Use a clean cloth to remove dirt, grease, etc.
- When cleaning the tine blades, always wear gloves to protect your hands.
- DO NOT use any water on any part of the main machine.
- Avoid using solvents when cleaning plastic parts. Most plastics are susceptible to damage from various types of commercial solvents and may be damaged by their use.
- Always ensure that ventilation openings are kept clear of debris.
Replacing Tine Blades:
Always wear gloves when working on the tine blades.
Worn tine blades can cause poor performance and could cause the machine to overload. You should check the tines before each use and replace them with new ones if necessary.
- To remove the tine blades, remove the 2 x M8x40 bolts (Z1) and nuts (Z2) with a suitable spanner (not included).
- To replace the tine blades, push the tine blades (E) onto the drive shaft (Z). The hole on the tine blades must be towards the drive shaft. Make sure that the holes of the tine blades (E) and the drive shaft (Z) are aligned.
- Push through the bolt (Z1) and fix it with the nut (Z2) and tighten. Make sure the nut is on the correct way. Do this with both tine blades.
- To uninstall, do this in reverse order.
Draining/Filling Transmission Oil:
- To allow easier access to the oil drain/refill plug (X), you can remove the tine blades (E) as shown in the ‘Replacing Tine Blades’ section. The oil drain/refill plug (X) is on the right side of the machine (if you are standing in front of the machine).
- Lay the machine on its right side so the plug is facing down towards the ground.
- Before removing the oil drain/refill plug (X), you must clean the transmission and remove any dirt or debris.
- To unscrew the oil drain/refill plug (X), use an 8mm hex key (not included).
- Drain the oil from the transmission into a suitable container. You must dispose of the oil correctly.
- Once the oil has drained, turn the machine on its left side so the plug (X) is facing upwards. This will allow you to fill the transmission with oil without it spilling out.
- Fill with high quality SAE30 or 15W40 oil (not included). Approximately 60ml of oil will fill the machine from empty.
- Reinstall the oil drain/refill plug and make sure that it is secure.
Storage:
Keep the machine stored in a dry, level area away from damp, moisture and rain fall. Allow the machine to cool down before storing.
- Make sure the machine is clean and dry before storing.
- Make sure the machine is stored away from direct sunlight. Store indoors or in a safe, locked protected area during severe weather and winter months.
- Ensure the machine is stored in a position, where any persons cannot step on to attempt to reach items up high, due to risk of movement.
- DO NOT store the machine near an ignition source, such as a wood stove, gas or electric heater, or an appliance or heater with a pilot light.
- Store the machine out of reach of children or anyone who is not familiar with operation.
- DO NOT stack other items on top of the machine when in storage.
To fold the handles:
- Open the wing nuts (L) until you can fold the handles forward. Be careful not to trap the cable in the folded handles.
CAUTION: Be careful not to trap your fingers.
