We understand how important it is to have a reliable belt-drive air compressor. That’s why we put together this collection of tips and advice to help you get the most out of your machine.
Whether you’re a professional or a do-it-yourselfer, these tips and advice will help you maintain and troubleshoot your belt drive air compressor.
Daily Checks:
It's essential to complete some daily checks to ensure your compressor is running optimally. Each day, drain the air tank at the bottom of the tank to remove moisture. Additionally, check belt tension and alignment, as well as the oil level in the compressor pump's glass sight gauge, which should be halfway up.
Inspect the system for any air leaks, loose fixings, guards, nuts, and bolts, and check the torque of cylinder head bolts every 50 hours and then every 1000 hours (torque: 29NM). Electrical cables and plugs should also be checked for any damage.
For ongoing maintenance, clean the air filter every 500 hours of use (more regularly if in a dusty environment) and change the compressor oil every 1000 hours of use. Use SAE15w40 or Type 46 compressor oil for best results.
By completing these daily checks, you can ensure your compressor is running at its peak performance.
