Here are the easy steps to help you in starting the Hyundai HYM530SPE Petrol Lawn Mower.
Troubleshooting
HYM530SPE engine does not start
- Ensure that the OPC cable is adjusted correctly
- Check the fuel level in the fuel tank.
- Check whether the fuel has gone stale. We have a guide for draining stale fuel here.
- Check whether the air filter element is dirty. If so, you may have to buy a replacement.
- Check whether the spark plug is loose or disconnected.
- The engine may be flooded - wait several minutes before attempting to start it again.
HYM530SPE spark plug issues
- Is the spark plug cap incorrect? It should be set to 0.7-0.8mm or replaced.
- The carburettor may be flooded with fuel. If this is the case, remove the air filter and pull-starter rope until carburettor clears.
- You may have a faulty ignition module - contact us for repairs if this is the case.
HYM530SPE difficult to start or loses power
- There may be dirt, water or stale fuel in the tank. Drain the fuel and clean the tank - see our video here.
- Check to see if the vent hole in the fuel tank is clogged - if so, clean or replace the fuel tank cap.
- Check whether the air filter element is dirty. If so, you may have to buy a replacement.
HYM530SPE engine operates erratically

- Is the spark plug cap incorrect or defective? It should be set to 0.7-0.8mm or replaced.

HYM530SPE engine overheating
- The cooling airflow may be restricted. Remove any debris from slots in the shroud, blower housing and air passages.
- Is the spark plug cap incorrect or defective? It should be set to 0.7-0.8mm or replaced.
HYM530SPE mower vibrates abnormally
- The cutting assembly may be loose - if this is the case, tighten the blade.
- The blade or cutting assembly may be unbalanced - if this is the case, contact us for repairs.
