What are the specified minimum and maximum voltages on the ATS positive pin?
The start process is initiated by a closed circuit between connections 16 and 17 within the ATS panel. We test this process by using a simple link wire within the communications plug. We have no maximum/minimum readings for this and this could only be tested by applying various voltages (from the battery) to attempt a start. The process we could test would only give the voltage from the battery as there would be a very little voltage drop. For our test, we wired up a test rig and attempted a start using a 9V carbon (0.4Amp) battery connected to the generator ATS pin - this started the generator.
What is the specified minimum voltage required at the point of the generator's ATS connector in order to be able to charge the battery?
The output of the battery charger on the ATS is 13.8V. Our recommendation would be to remove the battery charger from the ATS and fit this inside the generator. This would then need to be powered separately by a 230V supply.
